The symposium will begin with a welcome dinner on Sunday, 22 September 2024 and end with a farewell lunch on Wednesday, 25 September 2024. Further information is available in the program schedule.

Directions

Augsburg´s central station is about 1.4 km away from the hotel (walking distance: max. 20 minutes). The city center is about 2 km away from the hotel.

For guests travelling by public transport the most convenient way to reach the hotel from Augsburg central station is by bus or tram. Take bus 600 (direction to Schwabmünchen Bahnhof) and get off at “Kongress am Park”. Alternatively, take tram line 6 (direction Friedberg, West P+R) and change at stop “Königsplatz” to tram line 1 (direction Göggingen). Get off at “Kongress am Park”. The stop „Kongress am Park” is located 300 meters from the hotel.

For international guests the closest airport to Augsburg is Munich International Airport (MUC) located about 80 km away. From Munich Airport take the local transport system (S-Bahn and regional trains) to Augsburg central station. Before getting on the public transport please purchase tickets at the counter or the ticket machine.

The S-Bahn line S8 connects the airport to the Munich city center at 10-minute intervals where you change to the regional trains to Augsburg central station and from there take the public transport to the hotel. Total travel duration: approx. 90 – 120 minutes (depending on connection).

If you take S8 (direction to Herrsching) get off at München-Pasing and continue the journey with the regional trains RE 80 (direction to Würzburg Hbf or Aalen Hbf), RB 87 (direction to Donauwörth) or RE 9 (direction to Ulm Hbf). Get off at Augsburg Hbf. Take bus 600 (direction to Schwabmünchen Bahnhof) and get off at “Kongress am Park”. Alternatively, take tram line 6 (direction Friedberg, West P+R) and change at stop “Königsplatz” to tram line 1 (direction Göggingen). Get off at “Kongress am Park”. The hotel is located 300 meters from the hotel.

Accommodation and meals

Throughout the conference period, a block of single hotel rooms has been reserved for all participants at the Dorint Hotel Augsburg. To avoid double reservations please do not contact the hotel directly.

Room charges for all invited participants will be billed directly to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the following dates: arrival 22 September 2024 / departure 25 September 2024 (or 26 September 2024 for OC 2025 members only). Any additional nights apart from the dates listed will have to be covered by the individual participant. You will also be responsible for additional charges or any incidental charges upon check-out.

Costs for meals as indicated in the conference program will be covered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for all participants.

Exclusion of liability

Please understand that both partner organizations are neither liable for any physical injury or damage to property that may occur during your travels to the meeting site and back home nor during your stay at the meeting site itself.
