The Penck Hotel Dresden is located in the city center of Dresden. The old town is within walking distance from the hotel.

Directions to the Hotel

For international guests the closest airport is Dresden Airport (DRS). The most convenient way to reach the hotel from Dresden Airport is by city train S2 (direction Pirna) to Dresden Mitte (15 minutes train ride). From train station Dresden Mitte it is a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Information on train schedules are available at: www.bahn.com/en

For guests travelling by train the most convinient way from Dresden main station is by tram or city/regional train (3-6 minutes train ride) to Dresden Mitte: tram STR 10 (direction Messe Gleisschleife, Dresden), city train S2 (direction Flughafen Dresden), city train S1 (direction Meissen) or regional train RE 18 (direction Cottbus), regional train RE 50 (direction Leipzig).

Accommodation and Meals

Throughout the conference period, a block of single hotel rooms has been reserved for all symposium attendees at the Penck Hotel Dresden. Room charge for all invited participants will be billed directly to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the duration of the symposium (day of arrival: October 5, 2023/ day of departure: October 8, 2023). To avoid duplicate reservations, please do not contact the hotel directly.

Meals as indicated in the conference program are included in the symposium and expenses will be covered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for all participants.

Please note that participants will be responsible for additional charges, e. g. if you wish a double room, extra overnight stay, or any incidentals, upon check-out.

Please understand that the Humboldt Foundation is neither liable for any physical injury or damage to property that may occur during your travels to the meeting site and back home nor during your stay at the meeting site itself.
