The UK-German Frontiers of Humanities Symposium 2026 will be held at:

The symposium will begin on Wednesday, 10 June 2026 in the afternoon and end on Friday, 12 June 2026 in the evening. Further information is available in the program schedule.

Directions
The GSI is easily accessible by various means of transport (see instructions). Before using public transportation, please purchase tickets at the ticket counter or ticket machine.

From the Bonn Hauptbahnhof (central station), take underground line 16 or 63 (towards Bad Godesberg) and exit at Bonn, Max-Löbner-Straße / Friesdorf. Walking distance from there to the venue is approximately 10 minutes (see map).

Alternatively, take underground line 66 (towards Bad Honnef or Clemens-August-Straße) and exit at Bonn, Robert-Schuman-Platz. Walking distance from there to the venue is approximately 10 minutes (see map).

Total travel duration: approximately 20 minutes (depending on connection).

Accommodation and meals
Throughout the conference period, a block of single rooms has been reserved for all participants at the venue. To avoid double reservations please do not contact the venue directly.

Room charges for all invited participants will be billed directly to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the following dates: arrival 10 June 2026 (or 09 June 2026 for participants from UK depending on train connections) / departure 12 June 2026 (or 13 June 2026 for participants from UK and Germany depending on train connections). Any additional nights apart from the dates listed will have to be covered by the individual participant. You will also be responsible for additional charges or any incidental charges upon check-out.

Costs for meals as indicated in the conference program will be covered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for all participants.

Exclusion of liability
Please understand that both partner organizations are neither liable for any physical injury or damage to property that may occur during your travels to the meeting site and back home nor during your stay at the meeting site itself.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) kindly asks all participants to adhere to the following Code of Conduct. This Code applies throughout the entire duration of the event.

Our event is committed to fostering mutual respect and ensuring an inclusive and safe space for all – regardless of gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, ethnic background, nationality, religion, or belief.

Any form of harassment will not be tolerated. Sexualized language and sexualized imagery are inappropriate at any time during the event – including in presentations, workshops, discussions, receptions, online sessions, or social media.

Participants who violate this Code may face consequences, up to and including removal from the current event and exclusion from future AvH events.

Anyone who experiences or witnesses harassment is encouraged to contact a member of the event team. Team members can be identified by their name badges and may also be reached via the central event email address or telephone number.

All reports will be taken seriously, with the aim of supporting those affected and ensuring that all participants feel safe and respected throughout the entire program.
